He sold off most of what he had and stepped onto the trail with the rest on his back. Not as a plan—more like a direction.

Now the reality of that decision is setting in. Every step is heavier than expected.

Carrying everything you own up a mountain isn’t something your

body just adjusts to overnight.

He’s been moving between campsites, learning as he goes. There’s no real schedule. No fixed destination.

Just the trail in front of him and whatever comes next.

Along the way, there have been small moments that matter— like the family who handed over all their leftover food before heading home.

Out here, things show up differently.

Right now, he’s staying put.

Rain moving in.

Temperatures dropping into the low 40s. Waiting it out before continuing north.

He’s about a day out from North Carolina. After that, maybe Virginia.

Maybe beyond.

There’s no clear plan. Just movement.

And for now, that’s enough.
