I Came to Give Anyway

I didn’t come out here empty-handed.

My car is full. Food.

Drinks.

Signs I made myself. A Bluetooth speaker charged and ready.

Trail magic.

I’ve wanted to do this for eleven years. And now I’m here.

If I’m being honest— he was part of the reason I came. An excuse. A doorway. Something that made the idea feel real enough to act on.

But what I found when I got here… wasn’t what I expected.

Some things don’t break all at once.

They fracture in layers. Respect. Energy. Intention.

Sometimes it shows up as words. Sometimes as actions. Sometimes as something you made with your own hands— something that carried meaning, story, sacrifice—

Being treated like it didn’t matter at all?

There’s a moment when you realize:

You can’t make someone hold what’s sacred if they don’t see it that way. You can’t love someone out of their own sabotage. And you can’t keep offering something real just to watch it get turned against you.

So I stepped back. Not from the trail. Not from the purpose. Not from who I am.

Just from what wasn’t aligned.

Because this was never about one person. This was about something I’ve carried for a long time.

The kind of magic that shows up on the side of the road when someone needs it most.

The kind that says: You’re not alone out here.

So tomorrow, I’ll be back out there. Same signs. Same supplies. Same intention.

Not because everything went right.

But because this is who I am. Some people talk about it. Some people be about it.

And me? I came to give anyway.

Love is literally the whole point.
