“I wanted to be unknown.”

Out here, that almost feels possible. No past. No expectations. Just another person moving forward. No one knows where you came from. No one knows who you were. For a moment, that kind of freedom exists.

But the trail has a way of revealing things anyway. Not through questions. Not through conversation.

Through time.

Through miles.

Through the way you keep going when it would be easier not to.
