LOVE WINS ERA · THINK ABOUT THIS
If I’m the Villain… Then Explain This
Wed, 15 Apr 2026
There’s a version of me that exists in someone else’s story.
In that version, I’m a fraud. A narcissist. An abuser.
Evil.
Someone hiding behind “Love Wins Era” to cover something dark.
That version of me is convenient.
Because if I’m the villain, no one has to look at their own behavior. No one has to sit with what they accepted, what they took, or what they gave back.
But here’s what doesn’t fit that story:
I showed up. Not in theory. Not online. Not in words. In action.
I packed my car. I made the signs. I drove out to the trail. I brought supplies, support, intention.
Not because I was asked. Because that’s who I am.
Yes—he didn’t ask me to come. And that matters.
But this matters too:
He accepted what I brought. The help. The care. The effort. The presence.
And then— When something shifted… when the alcohol hit… when whatever lives underneath came forward—
It turned into rejection. Disrespect. Dismissal.
Everything I gave… thrown back at me.
So let’s be honest about what this moment actually is.
Not the story. The reality.
If I were what I’ve been called— I wouldn’t be here right now. I wouldn’t be going back out tomorrow. I wouldn’t still be showing up for strangers on that trail.
A narcissist doesn’t keep giving when there’s no reward.
An abuser doesn’t build something rooted in service.
A fraud doesn’t keep moving when no one is watching.
But I am.
Because Love Wins was never about being liked. It was never about being understood. It was never about controlling how others receive what I give.
It’s about this:
Choosing love as an action—especially when it’s not returned.
Love Wins does not mean I become a doormat. It does not mean I accept disrespect. It does not mean I stay where I’m not valued. It does not mean I keep giving to someone who throws it back in my face.
Love is not weakness. Love is clarity. Love is boundaries. Love is knowing when to walk away and still remain who you are.
I can choose love and still choose distance. I can give and still say “that’s enough.” I can show up with an open heart and still close the door when it’s no longer respected.
That’s alignment.
So I’m going back out there.
Not for him. Not to prove anything. Not to fix what broke.
But because I said I would.
Because I came here to be a Trail Angel.
Because this isn’t about one person’s reaction—
It’s about who I am when faced with it. You can call me whatever you want.
But I’ll be the one on the side of the trail with a car full of support, signs in the ground, and music playing— waiting for the next hiker who needs it.
That’s the difference.
Love Wins.
Not because it’s easy. Because I choose it anyway.
